About
2009 has been, by far, the most productive year ever for New York City based artist Ryan Crane. With a string of music productions this year signed to some of the most well respected labels in the Progressive House and Trance scenes, Ryan has been able to continue to push forward his creative sound with a passion that many are starting to understand. Along with his growing skills as a producer and DJ, he has been able to continue expanding as a visual artist as well. With several large scale mixed media paintings completed and a dedicated approach to refining his visual style and taste, it’s easy to see that this is one faithful soul.
February marked the first EP for the year and also the first on German dance imprint Jetlag Digital. The Andromeda EP was released with an amazing reception from the global dance circuit, and the lead single “In This Space” drew an amazing response from even those outside of the dance market. In March the entire EP landed on a mix compilation for the WMC in Miami, again from Jetlag Digital simply entitled “WMC 2009 Sampler”. A live mix from Jetlag label owner Shane, which was completed with a Jazzmutant Lumur. Also early in the year, another major accomplishment for Ryan was when his track “Night Light” was signed to dance music giant Bonzai Music. The track has been heavily supported by the prolific DJ/Producer Airwave who charted it for the first few months of the year. The second compilation of the year to feature music from Ryan was “The History Of Atlantis – Chapter 1: The Genesis” on the amazing Atlant Digital in France. The compilation, a stunning collection of Progressive House and Trance from all over the world, featured the beautifully deep record “Cool Glow” from Ryan. The third compilation and proper mix CD to feature one of Ryan’s works was the massive “Sphere of Influence” compilation from world-renowned DJ/Producer Noel Sanger. The uplifting “Leap of Faith” which was remixed by Mo Volans aka Mohawk was the single that was selected for the project which was released by New York record label Moist Music.
With an amazing start to the year and now drifting past the halfway point a handful of other projects have also been completed, with work due out on Chris Sterio’s top tier UK label Source of Gravity, as well as releases scheduled on Electric Life Records and Type Six Recordings, and a newly refreshed monthly mix schedule, the remaining half of 2009 should be as intensely busy for this budding New York artist as the first half was.
